Tennis
Tucked away in the midst of the Sports Core is
the Oak Brook Bath & Tennis Club, a Village-owned facility
offering fine dining and banquet service, and incomparable
recreational opportunities.
With its wood and glass contemporary
architecture, the clubhouse possesses the look, warmth and
tranquility of an elegant country lodge. Floor-to-ceiling windows
offer a stunning view of the lake and surrounding grounds. The
clubhouse recently underwent a complete renovation, making it a
state-of-the-art facility while maintaining its country charm.
An event at the Bath & Tennis Club ~ be it a
wedding, business meeting, banquet or brunch ~ will be a memorable
experience. The Bath & Tennis Club offers a full complement of
recreational facilities, including ten outdoor courts (eight
Har-Tru; one Har-Tru practice court; one asphalt), three outdoor
swimming pools (one for swimming, one for diving and a wading pool
for small children), as well as an adult whirlpool. In the winter
months, ice skating and cross-country skiing can be enjoyed.
Oak Brook Golf Club
Since the early
1920s, golfers have enjoyed a challenging round at one of DuPage
County's oldest courses. The Oak Brook Golf Club is an 18-hole
golf course, owned and operated by the Village of Oak Brook.
Amenities include an all-grass driving range, three putting and
chipping greens, fully stocked pro shop and excellent dining
facilities.
In 1999/2000, the Golf Club underwent a major
expansion and remodeling, doubling the size of the clubhouse and
installing a state-of-the-art double-row irrigation system. Areas
expanded include the locker rooms, food service operation, patio
and veranda. The golf course and driving ranges are open April 1
through November 1, weather permitting.
Several types of season memberships are
available, and the PGA professional staff offers clinics and
instructional programs for golfers of all ages. Golf outings are
available.
The Oak Brook Polo Club
The Oak Brook Polo
grounds are located in a beautiful wooded area. Ideally located
near major expressways in Chicago's western suburbs, Oak Brook's
fine hotels and fabulous shopping are just 5 minutes from the
site.
